Today Andrew and I participated in a 5k for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We actually got involved kinda by accident. One of my close girlfriends Amanda decided to walk because she lost close friends and family to Diabetes and it was near and dear to her heart. She sent me an email stating she was walking and asking for donations to help reach her team fundraising goal. I asked her a few questions about it and decided I was going to walk as well. :) Drew decided to jump in on the action and we were able to raise $130.00 for JDRF.
The walk was this morning at 9:00 am. We got up early and enjoyed the festivities prior to the walk. We enjoyed some free coffee and water and waited for the walk to begin. They had several ambassadors there and these kids are like angels walking on earth. I have a family member and some friends who suffer from Type 1 Diabetes and I hope what little amount we fundraised will get us that much closer to finding a cure.
The walk took us approximately 45 minutes to an hour and it was a lot of fun. So many people out there to support such an amazing foundation. It's definitely pumped me up and I am ready to walk in the Breast Cancer 3-day! :)
I am attaching some pictures for you to see. We had a great time! Thanks to all of those who supported us in our walk.
Take care,
Krysie
