04.26.09 -- The day that changed my life

This Sunday started just like any other I suppose. Back up about a week and a half and we made the long haul driving up to Chicago for Andrew's Grandfathers funeral. Due to the time in the car and all the luggage, I made a personal choice to leave my Bible and Jesus Journal at home. Yes, I have a Jesus Journal and I was writing in it daily.

Two days before the trip, I didn't write in it or read from my Bible. I was simply too busy getting everything ready and during the course of the trip and the days following after we returned home, I noticed a hole in my soul. I felt very distant from God and I knew I was the cause of it.

Sunday morning April, 26th 2009, Andrew mentioned going to the early service at church since we were up. I am SO glad he brought it up, because honestly, I was thinking about skipping out on service. Mostly because I felt like I had abandoned Him and wasn't ready to face the music so to speak. But, I am SO thankful we did....because it changed my life.

The whole message was about baptism. How Jesus walked 60 miles to get baptized. Fully man and Fully God, he lived a perfect life and he even got baptized. Now, I was baptized when I was younger, approximately 10 y/o after going through First Communion in the Catholic Church. A great point that Father Ed made, was that everyone that was baptized in the Bible was immersed and old enough to make the decision to wear Jesus Christ. So needless to say this message like many others really moved me.

So Andrew and I stayed behind after service to get baptized again. I have to say that ever since I came up out of the water, everything has changed. Now, it's like outrageous, contagious Joy! Almost too much! My walk with JC has begun, and it's such an exciting one and I can't help but shout it out. Something I was reminded of was; God NEVER turns His back on us, we turn our backs on Him and that's what I had done. It isn't always easy getting in the presence of God, but when you do it's the most amazing thing!

The next step for us is going to a class on Sunday to find out more about Fellowship and what we can do to praise and worship our King. Getting into a Bible study is on the top of my list.

I am very excited for the decision that we have made for ourselves and each other. My job is to make sure that Andrew gets into heaven and vice versa. I am so thankful to God everyday for Him, my husband and my family and friends.

Love to all!
