The newest addition to the Weil Family

So I have been buggin' Drew for A LONG time about getting a dog, or as I like to call them a "poopy". Hah! I have wanted a poopy for awhile. I have had other poopies, but for one reason or another they were adopted out to other families, because my lifestyle at the time or the apartments I lived in just didn't work with the dog. So now I have been going on 3 years without a dog and it's wearing me down. I LOVE animals, especially dogs because they are so loving, loyal and faithful!

Drew's parents have gotten 2 different dogs from a breeder in Lake Tahoe, NV. Her name is Sally Kelley of Kelley Green Labradors. She breeds English Labs for their temperament. They are VERY calm, loving and soft mouthed. Which is perfect for us, for our family and upcoming family. One of the dogs they got from there was a puppy named Grace. She's a diva and she's deluxe son! :) Then just last year they added Chamois (pronounced Shammy) from Sally Kelley. Chamois was a retired breeder (momma dog) that they adopted. Once Sally retires the momma dogs, you can adopt them. They are perfect really for any home. So sweet, loving, calm and very easy to train!

Well now that we have the house, the cat and me at home, there is no time like NOW to get me that poopy I wanted. So we called Sally and we wanted a retired breeder. This way we can get her used to the home, make her the Alpha Dog and wait a year, get a puppy and she will help train the puppy. So that was the plan! I looked on the website and there wasn't any dogs for adoption but it said to call. I am SO thankful I did. Sally mentioned she did have one momma dog coming up. After many phone calls back and forth, last Thursday our new baby flew in from Reno to DFW airport. We picked her up and she was in a kennel and had a happy, panting face. She was so cute! Her name is Karioke and we call her Kari for short.

We figured when we brought her home she would be crazy, wouldn't eat, skittish, just NUTS. When we let her out of the cage she ran out and was waggin' her tail, she was so happy. From that moment she has loved us. She listens to us, plays with us, eats her food and she hasn't had an accident in the house in the 5 days she has been here. I am SHOCKED how great she is. Drew and I are happy parents and we love her so very much.

I wanted to share some pictures with everyone.

Well I am sound like a proud parent, but I don't care. She's great and we love her so much! She's been a blessing to us and so easy to care for.
