30 day shred or dead

So I bought a work-out DVD a few months back with every intention of using it and it never got opened until last Friday. I have been on this eating healthy/working out kick and thought to myself... "Hey, I should go get that DVD I bought!" Well little did I know what I was getting myself into. The title of this godforsaken ass-whoopin' is Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, and she ain't kiddin'!

So Friday, I popped the DVD in and cleared room in my living room. Then it instructed me I would need hand weights. Okay, I thought....I have some 5 lb hand weights I will get out of my closet. No big deal! Then the introduction comes on and it goes into explaining how the plan works and how she does circuits. 3 minutes strength training, 2 minutes cardio, 1 minute abs - repeated 3 times for a 20 minute work-out with a warm up and cool down. Well, I have been jogging for 2 weeks, I thought this was going to be a piece of cake....even thought... "I might have to do it twice to get pumped!" HAHA! I was SADLY mistaken.

Well I get started on the warm up....eh...windmills and arm swings. I am thinking...this is nothing. Like 45 seconds into the warm up...my heart starts beating a little faster. I was honestly a little perplexed by this. Really?! Heart rate jumping up during a warm up... oh well I thought and continued in. Then we got into the first circuit of strength training and before the first minute was up...I am gasping for air, panting SO loud and sweat started to bead up and roll down my back. I have been working out for 2 minutes people! WTH is going on?! Needless to say even though she told me NOT to take breaks, I did! I could barely lift my arms with the weights so I had to forego the weights and just do the movements without them! I had to! I was going to pass out from heart failure or something. I 'made' it through the work-out but not without shaky legs, barely breathing and covered in sweat. This chick just completely kicked my ass! But you know what?.....it felt GREAT!

I did my second day today...it took me all weekend to get over being sore and I was just now able to sit down in a chair without using my hands. Today was only maybe 1% easier....but hey! It's an improvement!

I am excited to see my 30 days results and see how shredded I get!!!
